SPRING 2008 REPORTS

Just a Thought

What an amazing piece of scripture the following is, it contains challenges, encouragement and promises. There is so much more contained in them but just to get you started...

Isa 40:28-31
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Vs 28 It’s amazing what we really know, but how easily we forget, I’m reminded of the line from that old hymn that says “count your blessings name them one by one and it will amaze you what the Lord has done” When we try to do that and look back at passed blessings why are we so surprised there are so many. I think it’s not that we haven’t known…. it’s just that we forgot. Then how many times have we heard that still small voice, that gentle prompt we felt in our spirit as God spoke to us through that word, that sermon, that inner knowing as God’s Spirit communicated with our spirit and felt so encouraged that we really are HIS workmanship and that HE is doing a work in our lives. Then the revelation to us that He never gives up, HE does not tire, HE does not need eight hours sleep to recover HIS strength to continue the work. Then there is the mere fact that HE is omniscient!!! HIS knowledge and understanding is beyond our understanding and we stand in awe of HIM, we worship HIM for who HE is the “I AM” of the scriptures, but not just the scriptures, of our lives. This is how the Psalmist David put it…. Ps 139:1-6
O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 for there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it. (NKJV)

Vs 29 So many times I have heard that to be strong you have to be weak as if it is some kind of qualification or badge of honour that we show off. I am sure that God does not want us as weaklings BUT that we recognise our abilities and their limitations, then allow the power of God to work in us and through us to perform the tasks and callings that HE places in front of us. So that ultimately HE gets the glory. The apostle Pauls had an understanding of how it worked, he wrote to the Galatians and in his letter said these words…. "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me"; (Gal 2:20) He recognised that his strength and power came from the fact that He was “in Christ” and that, was what released Gods power and strength in him.

Vs 30 If we solely rely on our natural talents strength and abilities at some point we are going to run out of steam. This verse warns us of the dangers of such action, we grow tired and weary which eventually leads to a fall. It’s when we are tired and weary that we are most vulnerable, our senses become dulled and are responses are lethargic. Falling asleep on the job has cost many a warrior his life as the enemy springs a surprise attack. The solution is found in the next verse 31 but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Vs 31 This is not a suggestion to do nothing, or hang around a bit, but an encouragement to get together with God and become united in spirit, purpose and deed. The word wait has at its root a meaning of “a binding together” remember the point about being in Christ? HIS strength becomes our strength and we start to sore on the thermals of the Holy Spirits Power, high above circumstances, situations. Being able like the eagle to look down with sharp eyes and focus, to be able to see things from Gods perspective. That will give us the impetus to carry you/us on into the victory that is ours in Christ Jesus. Then again like Paul we will be able to say…. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Tim 4:7-8 (NKJV)

Personal Thanks

Once again June and I thank you all for your love, support and for praying for us, God has been good to us and we know that HE will continue to look after us. However as said above we still need to do our bit and ask that you continue to pray for us as we seek to walk in that which God has called us to. That we might know and understand what His purpose is for the next year, and so see His hand and favour at work in our lives…..

I will try and update my web page with some of the details more often, or as soon as I am able (with my limited knowledge and understanding of how those things work) If anyone wants to volunteer let me know. As you can see I am away in the USA again for three weeks in April/May please pray for Gods anointing and protection, also for June as she continues to work with History Makers whilst I am away.

We also pray that you might know HIS favour and blessing on your lives, and that you would know the annointing that breaks the yoke on all you do for Him.

Shalom b' Yeshua
